Ever notice how the brains of even the so called intellectuals of the left short circuit when it comes to certain subjects?

The most recent and the most glaring example of this is the Sam Harris meltdown. If you hear Harris on his meditation app or one of his debates, you will come away with the impression that he is a level headed fellow that doesn't let his emotions cloud his reasoning. So when he said he would not have cared if Hunter Biden had children's corpses in his basement because defeating Trump is much more important, it was shocking. What is it about Trump that causes leftists to completely forsake reason and act like morons?

"Russia interfered in the 2016 POTUS election" seems to be another article of faith among the left's intelligentia. The evidence for this is very thin, but that doesn't seem to matter. Jaron Lanier, in his "Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now", argues this. He presents some indications that Russia tried to interfere in the election. From there, he takes the leap (seemingly without he himself noticing it) and claims that Russia successfully interfered and got Trump elected. Some Russian company spent $100k on facebook ads, which the leftists preposterously claim "swung the election to Trump". Trump and Hillary together spent around $2B on advertising. But somehow, the Russians' $100k was all that mattered! Cal Newport, the author of "Deep Work", claimed on some show (a webcast, I beleive) that Russians' ads were so effective because they appealed to voters' racial identities. As if Hillary Clinton and the Dems are not masters at identity politics! We hear claims that the Russian ads got so many millions of impressions, but does anyone really remember these seemingly magical ads that caused them to change their minds?

There are many books by liberal authors finding fault with Social Media in recent years. "Subverting Democracy" is invariably one of those faults. "Russia made you vote for Trump through Social Media" - this is their stance in a nutshell. Mueller came and went, but nobody on the left seems to have noticed. They continue to make the Trump Russia collusion claims. "Stand Out Of Our Light" by James Williams is particularly egregious, though it doesn't mention Russia directly. Williams argues that Social Media apps turn us 'subhuman', make us susceptible to (Russian) propaganda (and make us vote for Trump apparently, which is a Terrible Thing).

"Climate Change" is another area where the leftists suffer brain malfunction. This version of climate fearmongering has been going on for more than 40 years now - it is astonishing that the left still keeps its "buf of course" attitude about it. We are told all the time that the Science is settled. Meanwhile, among the dozens of predictions about the "Climate Calamity" over the years by Climate Scientists, I cannot recall a single prediction that came true or even came close. Scientific theories are educated conjectures. If they can't reliably predict what happens in the real world, they are worthless. If it is science at work, it would have been revised. Yet the same dire predictions continue, apparently unchanged. Despite the leftist claims that "Climate Change" is making everything worse, there's no indication that things are worse. And virtually everything seems to be a sign of "Climate Change" according to the "experts".

This unfalsifiable theory has to raise major red flags for anyone at this time. But the leftists are unfazed. Even the books by liberal authors that only mention "Climate Change" in passing refer to it in a respectful tone. But of course!
