Climate Science

Leftists assure us Climate Change is all settled science, and some 97% of the scientists agree people are causing it. They keep giving us deadlines for corrective action, claiming that we have only X years before we reach a point of no return. But once the X years are over, they revise the deadline: we can still make a difference for the better so long as we act within Y years. (I keep waiting for them to declare we reached the point of no return and are totally screwed, but it never happens. There's always something we can do, so long as we do it in a hurry.)

Meanwhile, IPCC reports are filled with leftist terminology - equity, inclusion. social justice and all the rest. IPCC is not exactly a science body, but if it injects so much politics into its reports, it is bound to make people suspicious. People would be justified in suspecting activism contributed more to the reports than science. People that reject the reports cannot be fairly called science deniers.

Anyone remember the reaction of doctors and nurses to BLM "protests" during the Covid pandemic? Until that first BLM "protest" in 2020, we were all subjected to lockdowns, and most of us willingly obeyed the new rules. We believed the medical community when it told us we needed to stay home for our own safety. These are doctors - dispassionate people of science. But when the same doctors declared racism is a bigger problem than the Covid virus, scales fell from our eyes. These are not people of science. They are leftist loons. Anyone that believes there's systemic racism in the US is a moron (or a leftist, which is the same thing). If you think blacks are in some special danger in this country, you are not fit to talk science with me, or call me a science denier.

Covid utterly destroyed doctors' and nurses' image in society. Climate scientists are in the same boat, and they are not helping themselves. First of all, you never see any climate scientist defend their (numerous) failed predictions. A scientific theory not producing results in real life would be a great cause for concern to a real scientist. And yet, no climate scientist says anything at all about the spectacular failures of climate science. No mea culpa. No "we have a lot to figure out yet". No nothing. They just carry on as if they have always been right. They shamelessly issue some new predictions.

Second, they claim virtually everything that happens is caused by Climate Change. If you go by their claims, there's nothing that the Climate Change doesn't cause. The Climate Change hypothesis is unfalsifiable. Everything that happens is claimed to support it, and nothing ever contradicts it. This is the hallmark of a scam.

Third, they keep claiming Climate Change is causing extreme weather. They are not able to sell it, but they still double down. They claim that things are getting worse than they originally thought, and that is happening faster. Meanwhile, climate related deaths are at an all time low. We were never safer than we are now in that regard.

The only thing that the climate scientists have in their favor at the moment is peer review: their claim that their work is validated by others. But the system can be gamed. Scientists are ordinary, flawed people, just like doctors are, as we learned during the pandemic.
